Permaculture (permanent agriculture) is the conscious design and maintenance of agriculturally productive ecosystems which have the diversity, stability, and resilience of natural ecosystems. It is the harmonious integration of landscape and people providing their food, energy, shelter, and other material and non-material needs in a sustainable way. The core of permaculture is design and the working relationships and connections between all things. Each component in a system performs multiple functions, and each function is supported by many elements.
By recognizing that nature does everything it does with no effort whatsoever, we can work with it rather than against it and mimic it in order to
make life easier and more economical for ourselves and at the same time have abundant organic food and other bioresources. In addition to efficient,
abundant food production, permaculture also includes: Building energy efficient well insulated buildings, efficient water management, appropriate and
efficient waste management systems and the use of renewable energy resources.
We are building the Bliss Center based on the principles of Permaculture and are currently looking for volunteers
to join us to take part in the design and construction phase. Please contact us at at info@blisscenter.org for more information.
